MAC shines in Canada

Three members of  MAC competed, along with 30 other swimmers from  South Dakota, in the Scotiabank Prairie Winter International this weekend (Dec 3rd through the 6th) hosted at PanAm Pool in  Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.  Reva Bork had a great performance on Thursday night, placing 7th in the 800 meter freestyle.  Reva's time for that event broke the 17-Over  South Dakota state record by over twelve seconds. Reva placed 7th in the 400 meter freestyle on Saturday, also setting a new South Dakota state record for that event.

Tevyn Wadell earned a 5th place finish in the 200 freestyle, an eighth place finish in the 11-12 50 backstroke, an 11th place finish in the 100 freestyle, and a 13th place finish in the 50 freestyle. Karlie Brown placed seventh in the 100 meter butterfly, and fifteenth in the 11-12 50 breaststroke.  I was very happy with all of the girls' performances, we had individual best times in almost every event the girls swam this weekend.  Swimming against international competition in a prelim-final format was a great experience for the younger girls, and Reva really moved to the next level in this meet, we expect great things from her in the future.
